Part II - Wine tasting in Sonoma -Wine

We went to a few amazing wineries in Sonoma - they require an appointment, so well worth the attention of finding some amazing wines!

A favorite was Verite Winery tasting! We tasted a couple of current releases and then went to their library selection of trying 2009’s. So delicious, their wines embody the timeless traditions of France and the limitless possibilities of California. When Wine maker Pierre Seillan visited California in 1997, he too saw the potential and did not hesitate when Jackson asked him to come to Sonoma County to realize this dream together. And so, Vérité was born. Pierre Seillan has spent the past five decades perfecting his micro-cru philosophy to create world-class wines. His passion lies in crafting wines from diverse terroirs, using the same approach to capture the unique expressions of Sonoma County, Bordeaux, and Tuscany in each vintage. Another amazing wine, Stonestreet winery. Stonestreet Estate Vineyards stands as one of the most extensive mountain estates in the world and is a testament to the quality of high-elevation winegrowing in California. Here one finds a collection of distinctive single vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc — wines carved from an extreme landscape. They took us up to Alexander mountain region for an amazing picnic with thier wines and to see where the majic happens with each unique grape. This private tour allowed us to see an amazing view of Alexander Valley in the highest elevation To book a private excursion, call 707-473-3333 or email reservations@stonestreetwines.com. Ask for Alex, his knowledge and expertise will make you wanting every wine they make! Look them up! https://www.stonestreetwines.com/

Last but not least, Hartford Family winery - just the most quaint special place to go wine taste. Hartford Family Winery is a family-owned winery located in the Russian River area of Sonoma County. The winery specializes in single-vineyard Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and old vine Zinfandel. The wines produced express the character of their unique vineyards. They brought me back around to Zinfandel - it is what I remembered what it used to be 20 years ago - a must try! They are by appointment only, check out their site! https://www.hartfordwines.com/ Hartford Family Winery specializes in making wines from single vineyard sites. In recent vintages we have made about 25 different single vineyard bottlings. Small and low-yielding vineyards deliver expressive and personality-rich wine. Our single vineyard Hartford Court Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays total as few as 93 cases, up to about 800 cases. Likewise, our Hartford Old Vine Zinfandels are produced in small quantities. Our single vineyard wines are highly allocated.
